My Rating: 4 out of 5 🏹

It’s the dawn of a new age of heroes, and Metropolis has just met its first. But as Daily Planet intern Clark Kent—working alongside reporter Lois Lane—secretly wields his alien

powers of flight, super-strength and x-ray vision in the battle for good, there's even greater trouble on the horizon. Follow the budding hero as he engages in bloody battles with intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo and fights for his life to halt the attack of power-hungry alien Parasite. The world will learn about Superman…but first, Superman must save the world!

My Opinion

A fantastic restart of the DC Comics and Warner Bros. animated universe. The new art style is sublime and watching the movie was like watching a moving comic book. It is beautiful. From the futuristic background of Metropolis to the sharp finishings on each character. I honestly cannot fault the animation.

Darren Criss was excellent as Superman, there is a certain innocence to his voice that fits with the ‘boy scout’ reputation of Superman. Taking place during Superman’s emergal, Darren does an excellent job of keeping a degree of nervousness in Clark’s voice to accompany the confidence backed by his incredible abilities. A great performance.

Alexandra Daddario is a confident, collected and ambitious Lois Lane and that shows in her voice acting. This is the first time I have heard Daddario in a voice acting role after seeing her in movies like San Andreas and Baywatch and I thought she did an excellent job with what is an iconic character in Lois. She managed to gel with Criss’s Clark Kent really well and hopefully they will get to portray Clark and Lois again soon.

The movie is a really strong one and I couldn’t help but feel like I was watching a live action movie. The final act of the movie is the final fight verse Parasite and it is more of a marathon than a sprint. It is epic. I won’t give anything away as I want this to remain spoiler free but you will be seeing Superman using everything in his arsenal to win the battle.

Overall this is an exciting movie that paves the way for more fantastic animated movies in the same animation style. I really thought it was incredible and I look forward to seeing it again and again!
